Romantic Destinations in Chicago

chicago

Chicago might not be the first city to pop into your mind when you think of romance, but that doesn’t mean that the Windy City doesn’t have plenty to offer couples looking for a romantic evening or a romantic getaway. Look no further than the city’s center for romantic entertainment and adventure.

Start your romantic evening with a five-star dinner on top of the city. The Signature Room at the 95th is located at the top of the John Hancock Observatory and the view is absolutely incredible. Every seat in the house is a great one as the restaurant is encircled with windows that allow you and your partner breath-taking views out across the city as you dine.

After dinner, as the sun goes down take a tour through Grant Park. Walk hand-in-hand as couples do, but make your ultimate destination one to impress. The Buckingham Fountain is beautiful during the day, but in the evening the fountain is even more impressive with a light show every twenty minutes and a full water ballet. Continue your stroll through the park to enjoy other parts of the city in their full evening glory.

If you’d rather enjoy time together in the summer months, Lake Michigan is the place to be. In mild weather, take your boat or rent a boat and head out onto the lake. While technically a lake, Lake Michigan is much more like a large sea to explore. Enjoy the sun and spray of the lake as you spend the day on the water and the evening in one of the fine restaurants located close by the shore.

The winter months offer a different sort of romance for couples. Stay in a hotel along Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile” during the holiday season and you’ll enjoy far more than a deluxe hotel room. Michigan Avenue is lit up with an impressive array of Christmas lights along a full mile of city street. Walk, take a car or even enjoy a romantic carriage ride simply for the romantic fun of it all.
